Stubex, the Student Book Exchange, is a website which enables students to buy and sell used textbooks directly from each other without paying any commissions.

Stubex started out as the Palomar Book Exchange in the summer of 1997 to allow the students of this California college to buy and sell books from each other. To allow for a larger selection of books, Stubex was brought to life with a national audience.

Currently, the Stubex database holds thousands of used textbooks books from students all over the United States and Canada which can be bought by visitors, including students, throughout the continent.

Users can sign up and list their used textbooks. If they are looking for a specific book, users can sign up to automatically receive an e-mail when the books they want are listed on the site. The site is free to all users and derives its income from affiliate revenues.

Stubex also syndicates its listings through RSS-feeds, allowing even greater exposure of the used textbooks listings and improving the chances of quickly selling the textbooks.
